Skozi bralno popotovanje do naj bralca – pregled dejavnosti in predlogov za dvig bralne pismenosti


Izvleček

Brati ali ne brati, to za današnje najstnike sploh ni več vprašanje. Pred leti je veljalo, da učenci radi posegajo po knjigah in si z njimi krajšajo čas, a danes ni več tako. Motivacija osnovnošolcev za branje tudi s starostjo upada, čeprav se šolski knjižničarji na najrazličnejše načine in z različnimi pristopi trudijo, da bi jih privabili v knjižnico ter jih navdušili in motivirali za branje. Tudi v naši šolski knjižnici je opaziti, da veselje do branja, zagnanost in motivacija upadajo. Kako torej osnovnošolske bralce sploh privabiti v knjižnico in jih motivirati, da bodo ponovno z veseljem brskali po knjižnih policah ter z zanimanjem prelistali in brali nove, kakovostne in skrbno izbrane knjige? Avtorica prispevka poudarja, da je potrebna premišljena kombinacija dejavnosti, ki vključujejo učence in učitelje. Na šoli tako sodelujejo pri različnih projektih in pripravljajo številne dejavnosti, namenjene spodbujanju bralne pismenosti. Med temi so tradicionalni dogodki oz. projekti, kot so slavnostni sprejem prvošolcev v knjižnico ob dnevu zlatih knjig, skupinsko branje romanov pri slovenščini v okviru Nacionalnega meseca skupnega branja, vzgajanje vseživljenjskega bralca z internim projektom Naj bralec …, pa tudi inovativni pristopi, denimo bralni bingo, bralni koktejl, bralne čajanke, medgeneracijsko branje in podobno. Predstavi še druge predloge, s katerimi motivirati bralce, da bi ti še raje izbirali in brali kakovostno literaturo, namenjeno otrokom in mladini.

On a Reading Journey to the Best Reader – Overview of Activities and Proposals to Increase
Reading Literacy

‘To read or not to read’ is no longer a question for today‘s teenagers. While in the past, students were eager to pick up books and pass their time reading, this is no longer the case. The motivation of primary school students to read decreases with age, even though school librarians are making an effort in various ways and with different approaches to attract them to the library and inspire and motivate them to read. In our school library also, we have noticed that the joy of reading, enthusiasm, and motivation are declining. How, therefore, can we attract young readers to the library and motivate them to once again joyfully browse the bookshelves, flip through pages with interest, and read new, high-quality and carefully selected books? The author of this article emphasizes that a well-thought-out combination of activities, including both students and teachers, is necessary. At school, they participate in various projects and organize numerous activities aimed at promoting reading literacy. These include traditional events and projects, such as the ceremonial welcome of first graders into the library on the Day of the Golden Book, group reading of novels during Slovenian lessons as part of the National Month of Shared Reading, and fostering lifelong readers through an internal project called Top Reader. There are also more innovative approaches, such as reading bingo, reading cocktails, reading tea parties, intergenerational reading, and more. The article also presents additional suggestions on how to further motivate young readers to more eagerly choose and read high-quality literature for children and youth.
