Povzetek
Zeleni dogovor, ki ga je sprejela Evropska komisija leta 2021, zahteva naložbe v posodabljanje znanj in spretnosti za obvladovanje trajnostnih kompetenc, zelenih tehnologij in zmanjšanje okoljskega odtisa vseh dejavnosti. Namen prispevka je prikazati rezultate projekta »Okoljske spremembe«, ki podpira izvajanje evropskega zelenega dogovora, evropske industrijske strategije in nedavno sprejetega evropskega programa znanj in spretnosti za trajnostno, socialno, pravično in odporno družbo, in izkoristiti priložnosti vgraditve trajnostnih kompetenc v izobraževanje tudi pri geografiji. V teoretičnem delu so prikazane dileme razumevanja trajnostnosti. Poudarjena je potreba po razvoju bolj celovitega sistema za prepoznavanje in posodabljanje potrebnih trajnostnih (in zelenih) kompetenc, ki so ključne za opravljanje različnih del in storitev. Tudi pri geografiji so tovrstne vsebine aktualne zaradi interdisciplinarnosti.
Abstract
Sustainability and Circular Economy as an Educational Opportunity for Geographers
The Green Deal adopted by the European Commission in 2021 calls for investment in up-skilling to master sustainable competences and green technologies and reduce the environmental footprint of all activities. This paper aims to present the results of the Environmental Change project, which supports the implementation of the European Green Deal, the European industrial strategy and the recently adopted European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness, and resilience, and to exploit the opportunities of embedding sustainable competences in education, including geography. The theoretical part presents the dilemmas about understanding sustainability. It highlights the need to develop a more comprehensive system for identifying and updating the necessary sustainable (and green) competences that are essential for the performance of different jobs and services. In geography, such content is also relevant due to its interdisciplinary nature.
