Izvleček
Številne raziskave opozarjajo, da zanimanje za branje knjig upada. Na OŠ Orehek Kranj učence na različne načine spodbujamo k branju in eden od teh je, da državni projekt Rastem s knjigo že več let uspešno vključujemo v učni načrt. V okviru projekta sedmošolci vsako leto prejmejo knjigo slovenskega avtorja, ki je ena od štirih knjig s seznama domačega branja, nanjo pa navežemo tudi ocenjevanje. Učenci dobijo pred branjem bralni dnevnik, ki jim pomaga, da so že med branjem pozorni na besedišče, slog, glavne osebe, dogodke, čas in kraj dogajanja … V šolski knjižnici sledijo pogovori o tematiki knjige, predstavitev sorodnih knjig in ogled knjig avtorja, čigar knjigo prejmejo. Sledijo pogovori o vsebini, pregled bralnih dnevnikov. Priprave na pisanje šolskega spisa se lotimo formativno. Z učenci izdelamo kriterije za t. i. »dober spis«. Spise vrednotijo sami, pri čemer širijo besedišče, spoznavajo različne sloge pisanja, pridobivajo nove ideje in utrjujejo pravopisno znanje. Svoje mnenje o prebranem morajo tudi zapisati. Ker prevzemajo odgovornost za svoje delo in so pri uri aktivni, take ure hitro minejo in so jim všeč, rezultati (oz. ocene) pa dobri. Tako uspešno povezujemo branje, celostno obravnavo knjige na formativen način in pisno oceno.
Abstract
Whale in a School Library – an Addition to Growing Up with a Book Project
According to a variety of research, the interest in reading books is declining. At the Orehek Kranj Primary School, students are encouraged to read in various ways. One of them, which has been successfully included in school curriculum for a number of years, is the national project Growing Up with a Book. Every year, seventh grade students receive a book by a Slovenian author which is one of the four required readings and is included in students’ assessment. Before they start to read, students also receive a reading diary which they use during reading and helps them pay attention to details such as vocabulary, style, main characters, events, time and place, etc. The discussion on the theme of the book takes place in the school library, along with the introduction of related books and books by the same author. Students then discuss the content and present their reading diaries. The preparation for writing the school essay is formative – the criteria of »a good essay« are defined together with the students and the students evaluate the essays themselves which allows them to expand their vocabulary, learn about different writing styles, come up with new ideas and reinforce orthography. They are required to put their opinions of the book into words. As the students take responsibility for their work and are actively engaged in class, time passes quickly and pleasurably, and their results (grades) are good. This allows for a successful integration of reading, comprehensive and formative book analysis as well as assessment of the writing assignment.
