Abstract
Creative Approaches in Introducing Theatre
With the Gleda(l)išče project, the Slovenian Theatre Institute (Slovenski gledališki inštitut) as the national coordinator of cultural and art education in the world of theatre establishes a systematic cooperation and creative partnership between educational and cultural institutions and theatre creators with the purpose of increasing theatre literacy and development of innovative learning methods. The article introduces the project’s basic guidelines and its central program units. The web platform Zlata paličica with a program of recommended performances by professional theatre creators for adolescents (until the age of 18) fosters the desire to learn about quality theatre production. The show under the spotlight represents a model of the guided viewing of performance, PreDRAMI se! – a form of interdisciplinary and crosscurricular teaching of drama and theatre. With creative approaches, the project encourages young people to become active, reflective and independent viewers, stimulates their creativity and fosters an active approach to art and culture as well as to the world around them.
