Šolske knjižnice v dobi umetne inteligence


Izvleček

Besedilo obravnava položaj šolskih knjižnic ter šolskih knjižničarjev v Sloveniji in njihovo soočanje z izzivi umetne inteligence (hiter tehnološki razvoj, pojav prosto dostopnih oblik umetne inteligence ter vpeljava nove terminologije – umetnointeligenčna pismenost). Z nastankom in pospešenim razvojem umetne inteligence je bistveno, da se v šolskih knjižnicah o tem področju razpravlja, se ga poučuje ter uporablja na ustrezen in etičen način. Šolske knjižnice med drugim opravljajo tudi izobraževalno vlogo, zato je pomembno, da vključujejo v svoje načrte oziroma dejavnosti tudi novosti s področja umetne inteligence in digitalnega sveta. Predstavljeni bosta dve tuji spletni konferenci (Teaching and Learning with AI in School Libraries and AI) ter okrogla miza Uloga/utjecaj digitalne tehnologije/ umjetne inteligencije na korisnike školskih knjižnica z opisi aktualnih primerov mednarodnih izkušenj (poudarek na etični uporabi umetne inteligence ter uspešni integraciji umetne inteligence v knjižnične storitve). Vpeljava umetne inteligence v šolske knjižnice mora biti premišljena in strokovna ob ohranitvi temeljnih vrednot knjižničarstva.

Abstract

School Libraries in the Artificial Intelligence Era

The paper addresses the status of school libraries and school librarians in Slovenia and their response to the challenges of artificial intelligence (rapid technological development, emergence of freely accessible forms of artificial intelligence, and the introduction of new terminology – artificial intelligence literacy). With the emergence and accelerated development of artificial intelligence, it is essential that these topics are discussed, taught and used in an appropriate and ethical manner in school libraries. Among other, school libraries also have an educational role, so it is important that they include innovations in the field of artificial intelligence and the digital world in their plans or activities. Two foreign web conferences (Teaching and Learning with AI in School Libraries and AI) and a round table titled “The Role/Impact of Digital Technology/Artificial Intelligence on School Library Users” will be presented, with descriptions of current examples of international experiences (emphasis on the ethical use of artificial intelligence and successful integration of artificial intelligence into library services). The introduction of artificial intelligence into school libraries must be thoughtful and professional while preserving the fundamental values of librarianship.
