Kemijo razumem z razvijanjem bralne pismenosti

Razvijanje bralne pismenosti je pomemben del učnega procesa, saj to lahko počnemo pri različnih predmetih. Učitelji v zadnjem času opažamo, da imajo učenci težave pri razumevanju prebranega in iskanju ključnih informacij. V projektu OBJEM smo na posameznih šolah razvijali gradnike bralne pismenosti, pri nas prioritetno bralno razumevanje in kritično branje, kar smo uspešno počeli tudi pri kemiji. Učenci so se urili v iskanju informacij v obsežnejših poljudnih in strokovnih besedilih, kjer so tudi iskali vse podatke, ki so jih potrebovali za izvedbo eksperimentalnega dela. Ne samo da so se lotili zahtevnega dela, bili so tudi uspešni pri branju multimodalnih besedil.

Abstract

Understanding Chemistry Through Reading Literacy

Reading literacy is an essential component of the learning process in multiple areas. Recently, teachers have noticed that learners lack understanding of what they read and have difficulties finding crucial information. As part of the OBJEM project, we created the building blocks of reading literacy in individual schools by prioritising reading comprehension and critical reading – as we had previously done successfully in chemistry. Students were guided on information searching in large-scale popular and technical texts, where they also looked for the information needed to conduct experiments. Not only did they complete the challenging tasks they also read multi-modal texts successfully.
