Dejavnosti za dvig bralne kulture pri osnovnošolcih

Izvleček

V prispevku sta predstavljeni dejavnosti, s katerima vzpodbujajo na OŠ II Murska Sobota branje predvsem pri učencih 8. in 9. razreda. Projekt, ki so ga poimenovali Bralna noč, se povezuje in dopolnjuje s projektom Lahko branje. Kot rezultate obeh dejavnosti vidijo prispevek k večjemu številu prebranih knjig in bralcev, kot dokaz sledijo izpisu izposoje v šolski knjižnici in številu tekmovalcev za bralno značko ter bralnih značkarjev ali zlatih bralcev. V sklopu dela strokovnega aktiva jezikoslovk se je izpostavilo vprašanje, s katerimi dejavnostmi lahko vplivajo na zmanjševanje upada učencev bralcev v zadnjih dveh razredih osnovne šole, torej osmo- in devetošolcev. Učenci preberejo obvezno čtivo v okviru domačega branja pri predmetu slovenščina, za dodatno, samostojno branje pa jim upade motivacija. Poleg tega se ob tem pojavlja vprašanje, katero literaturo ponuditi učencem s primanjkljaji na posameznih področjih učenja, med katere spadajo tudi učenci z disleksijo, da jim omogočijo doživljanje branja kot pozitivno izkušnjo. Branje je dejavnost, ki jo v sodobnem načinu življenja prevečkrat zanemarjamo. Poleg bogatenja besedišča, dviga bralne pismenosti in splošne razgledanosti branje otrokom in odraslim ponuja možnost umirjanja in kakovostnega preživljanja prostega časa. S projektom Bralna noč pa so učencem predstavili še družabni vidik dejavnosti branja. Predstavljeni bodo praktično izvajanje in rezultati enoletnega projekta Bralna noč, dopolnjenega s projektom Lahko branje.

Abstract

Activities for Raising Pupils’ Reading Culture in Primary School

The article presents two activities used at the primary school OŠ II Murska Sobota to encourage reading, particularly among eighth- and ninth-grade students. The project called Reading Night is connected with and complements the Easy Reading project. The results of both activities are reflected in an increased number of books read and student readers, as demonstrated by library loan records and by the number of participants in the Reading Badge competition, including those who achieved the Golden Reading Badge. Within the work of the language teachers’ professional team, the question arose as to which activities could help reduce the decline in reading motivation in the final two years of primary school, namely among eighth and ninth graders. Although students read compulsory literature as part of their home reading assignments in the Slovenian language classes, they often lack motivation for additional independent reading. Another issue that arises is which literature to offer students with specific learning difficulties, including students with dyslexia, in order to enable them to experience reading as a positive activity. Reading is an activity that is too often neglected in modern lifestyles. In addition to enriching vocabulary, improving reading literacy, and broadening general knowledge, reading provides children and adults with an opportunity for relaxation and meaningful leisure time. Through the Reading Night project, students were also introduced to the social dimension of reading. The article presents the practical implementation and results of the one-year Reading Night project, complemented by the Easy Reading project.
