Spoznavajmo zgodovino domačega kraja prek stavbne dediščine

V prispevku je predstavljen primer terenskega dela pri pouku zgodovine in izbirnem predmetu odkrivajmo preteklost svojega kraja. Terensko delo smo izvedli v okviru dneva dejavnosti, in sicer tehniškega dne. Želeli smo, da bi učenci spoznali zgodovino lokalnega okolja, razvili pozitiven odnos do nje in se zavedali pomena ohranjanja kulturne dediščine. S tem smo prispevali tudi k popestritvi učnega procesa, saj sicer poteka v obliki klasičnega pouka v učilnici. Zanimanje učencev za raziskovalno delo, številna vprašanja, ki se jim pri tem porajajo, in njihova zavzetost pri iskanju odgovorov nanje potrjujejo, da takšne dopolnitve pouka zelo pozitivno vplivajo na učence, njihovo razumevanje snovi ter razvoj veščin, ki jih bodo v življenju pogosto potrebovali. Nekateri učenci celo poiščejo starostnike in njihova pričevanja smiselno vključijo v predstavitev.

Abstract

Learning about the History of our Home Town through Architectural Heritage

The article introduces an example of fieldwork in History class and in the elective subject Learning about the History of our Home Town. The fieldwork was organised in the form of a School Tech Day. Our intent was for students to learn about the history of their local environment, develop a positive attitude towards it and increase awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage. This also made the learning process – otherwise taking place in the classroom – more interesting. The interest of students in research work, numerous questions resulting from it and their enthusiasm in looking for answers confirm that enhancement of traditional classroom learning has very positive effects on students, their understanding of the material and development of skills that they will often require later in life. Some of the students even found the elderly whose testimonies were relevant to the subject matter and included them in the presentation.
