Abstract
Self-Regulation of Learning during Distance Education
The 2019/20 school year was undoubtedly marked the most by the epidemic, which altered our way of teaching with distance education. Many teachers realized that they had to maintain daily contact with their pupils by seeing and talking to one another. The article presents an example of a teacher’s practice and his search for new ways to see and talk to all his pupils via a videoconference once a day, which would enable him to pass on and assess the assimilated subject matter knowledge. A great deal of time and effort was invested in preparing the materials because the teaching materials had to be understandable, clear and visually appealing. The teacher either prepared teaching materials or chose the available ones, made videos and precise instructions for pupils to learn independently. He constantly had to ask himself if the amount of teaching materials and exercises was appropriate for the pupils. That gave rise to the idea to measure the time pupils spent learning. That turned out to be a good motivational and organizational factor for the pupils.
