Dijakinje so tako s pravo pripovedovalsko izkušnjo in kasneje s pripovedovalskimi igrami razvijale zmožnost umetniškega izražanja skozi pripovedovanje.
Abstract
Raising the Level of Communicative Abilities of Preschool Education Students through Creative Storytelling
Franc Miklošič Ljutomer Grammar School (GFML) actively participates in the project Developing Communication Competences through Cultural-Art Education (SKUM). In the school year 2019-2020, the third year students of the upper secondary vocational programme Early Childhood Education engaged in the activity called Creative Storytelling. During the course of the practice-oriented vocational module Creating for Children, the students were offered a chance to improve their kindergarten teacher skills and stimulate their professional growth. One of the vital skills is storytelling, which was introduced to them by a Slovenian storyteller, Špela Frlic. The project was divided into individual stages, some of which were carried out in a virtual environment due to the pandemic. As a result of hands-on storytelling experience, followed by storytelling games, the students developed their artistic competences. The final step of the project took place in a park in Ljutomer, where a storytelling workshop for the children from Kindergarten Ljutomer was conducted. The students took the initiative and told stories to children on their own, which was a remarkable learning achievement that confirmed their communication competences had attained a higher level. Nevertheless, it is also worth noting that the educational aspect of remote learning was somewhat disheartening since the participants showed signs of personal distress due to social isolation, distancing and lack of social interaction.
