Izvleček
Ideje o participaciji učencev pri pouku segajo že v začetke 20. stoletja, v katerem so se različni pedagogi in reformatorji izobraževanja (prim. Dewey, Montessori, Freinet) zavzemali za to, da je v središču izobraževanja otrok s svojimi individualnimi zmožnostmi in interesi. Vključevanje učencev v pouk pa predstavlja tudi enega izmed ključnih elementov kakovostne in vključujoče šole 21. stoletja. Kljub temu različni tuji in slovenski strokovnjaki s področja vzgoje in izobraževanja ugotavljajo, da imajo učenci v praksi premalo priložnosti za participacijo pri pouku. Članek je sestavljen iz dveh delov. V prvem delu sta s teoretičnimi izhodišči predstavljena pojma participacija pri pouku in projektno učenje. V drugem delu pa je predstavljen primer samoiniciativnega projekta Kmetija učencev 4. in 5. razreda, ki praktično podkrepi teoretična izhodišča prispevka.
Abstract
Student Classroom Engagement: Farm Project
The concept of student engagement in the classroom has its roots in the early 1900s when educators and reformers like Dewey, Montessori, and Freinet promoted the idea that children, with their unique talents and interests, should be at the centre of learning. Involving learners in the classroom is also one of the crucial elements of a quality and inclusive school in the 21st century. However, various foreign and Slovenian experts in the field of education have noted that, in practice, there are not enough opportunities for students to participate in the classroom. The article has two parts. The first part introduces the notions of participation and project-based learning. In the second part, an example of a self-initiated project, The Farm, by pupils in Years 4 and 5 is presented, which provides practical support for the theoretical background of the paper.
