Težko je najti učitelja matematike, ki bi dvomil v pomembnost znanja poštevanke pri svojih učencih. Kaj o
poštevanki veleva učni načrt in ali izkušnje temu pritrjujejo? Kako pomembna je avtomatizacija poštevanke? Kateri izrazi so učencem najtežji? Kaj lahko razberemo iz napačnih odgovorov? Kaj lahko razberemo iz hitrosti odgovorov? Kdaj je vaja poštevanke potrebna in kdaj je je dovolj? V prispevku so predstavljene nekatere ugotovitve, ki so nastale na podlagi testiranja osnovnošolcev.
Abstract
On Multiplication Tables
We would be hard-pressed to find a mathematics teacher who doubts the importance of multiplication tables for their students. How is this reflected in school curriculum and does experience confirm this fact? What is the importance of memorizing multiplication tables? Which concepts are most difficult for students to learn? What can we learn from incorrect answers? What can we learn from the speed of answers? When is it necessary to practice multiplication tables and when to stop? The article introduces some of the findings based on primary-school students’ tests.
