Povzetek
Hrvaški otok Lošinj sodi med manjše hrvaške otoke, ki pa si zasluži nekoliko več pozornosti, kot bi jo pripisali samo njegovi velikosti. Tako je zelo bogata že njegova flora, prav tako pa tudi druge naravne značilnosti, med katere sodi najprej geologija. Za geografa je ključno tudi poznavanje nekaterih dejstev o družbenem oz. gospodarskem razvoju, saj brez tega ne moremo razumeti v preteklosti izrazite depopulacije. Ta je bila značilna zlasti za tako imenovane zunanje otoke lošinjskega arhipelaga.
Abstract
Lošinj – Typical Kvarner or Croatian Island?
The Croatian island of Lošinj is one of the smaller Croatianb islands, but deserves more attention than its size would have us think. Namely, it has very abundant flora, and other natural features, which first and foremost include geology. It is crucial for geographers to be familiar with some facts about the social or economic development, because otherwise they cannot understand the pronounced depopulation which occurred in the past. This depopulation was especially characteristic of the so-called outer islands of the Lošinj archipelago.
