Izvleček
Prispevek predstavi učence z bralnimi težavami in dejavnost, s katero želijo na Osnovni šoli Janka Ribiča Cezanjevci to skupino učencev spodbuditi k branju.
Abstract
Reading Badge for Pupils with Reading Disabilities at Janko Ribič Primary School in Cezanjevci
The article presents pupils with reading disabilities and the activity being implemented at the Janko Ribič Primary School in Cezanjevci to encourage this group of pupils to read. This activity is an adapted Reading Badge. Owing to the problems that pupils with reading disabilities encounter when reading, they naturally refuse to read. It has been observed that the pupils who nevertheless enjoy reading and visit the library, despite encountering difficulties when reading, perform better in the subject of Slovenian language and in other subjects than the pupils with reading disabilities who do not read. Therefore, the aim of the adapted Reading Badge was to motivate pupils to read, for they believe that a good book will make you want to read it again. The article mentions the positive effects of reading, which are not few. To ensure that children will keep coming back to the library, we have to offer them appropriate books. The British Dyslexia Association has posted a Dyslexia-Friendly Style Guide on its website that contains principles or guidelines which make reading easier for dyslexic people and all other readers. The second part of the article provides information on the implementation of the Reading Badge at this primary school and the steps in which the adapted Reading Badge was implemented.
