Abstract
Education for Sustainable Development: a PISA Study
Within the scope of education for sustainable development, the PISA 2006 and PISA 2015 studies examined the attitude of 15-year-olds towards resources and the environment; we were interested in their awareness of specific environmental problems, in their optimism and concern regarding the development of certain environmental problems in the future, and whether they have taken responsibility for sustainable development. The results show that Slovenian 15-year-olds are relatively well aware of various environmental problems and feel that solving environmental problems is also important for their well-being. Moreover, they are able to assess very well what should be done in order to improve the situation, but also show considerable concern regarding the matter and do not believe that the situation concerning environmental problems could be improved within the next 20 years.
