Glasbeniki vseh starosti se na svoji umetniški, pedagoški ali ljubiteljski poti soočajo s številnimi fizičnimi,
socialnimi in psihičnimi izzivi, zaradi katerih so izpostavljeni velikemu tveganju fizičnih in psihičnih obremenitev ter poškodb. Za izvajanje tona na vseh klasičnih inštrumentih je nujno potreben telesni gib. Če je gibanje zaradi fizičnih omejitev, mentalne, čustvene naravnanosti ali specifičnih zahtev posameznega inštrumenta slabo organizirano, se ustvarjajo sile, ki povzročajo nepotrebne obremenitve v sklepih, vezivnem tkivu, mišicah in posledično v vsem telesu. To pa ob dolgotrajno ponavljajočem se vadenju lahko vodi do napetosti, bolečin in poškodb, ki so pri glasbenikih pogoste, konvencionalna medicina pa še ne ponuja dolgoročnih rešitev ali strategij preprečevanja. Članek ponuja pregled nekaterih tveganj in izzivov, s katerimi se soočajo pianisti, z namenom razvijanja zavedanja, razumevanja in iskanja možnosti preprečevanja ali obvladovanja teh izzivov. Zmanjšanje in preprečevanje napetosti, bolečin in poškodb je možno z izobraževanjem o učinkovitem gibanju, o urjenju kakovostne pozornosti, o zaznavanju nepotrebnih napetosti in njihovem sproščanju. Kaže se učinkovitost somatskih praks, ki ob procesno naravnanem in izkustvenem raziskovanju omogočajo večje zavedanje telesa, lahkotnost in obseg gibanja ter izboljšajo telesno ravnovesje, moč, prožnost in koordinacijo. Glasbeniki in glasbeni učitelji lahko z vedenjem, kako se varno gibati, to znanje in izkušnje prenašajo v igranje in poučevanje; veliko težav je tako mogoče preprečiti, zmanjšati ali odpraviti.

Abstract

Somatics for Painless Piano Playing

Musicians of all ages face several physical, social and psychological challenges in their artistic, teaching or amateur careers that could place them at a high risk of stress and injury. Physical movement is essential for the performance of tone on all classical instruments. Poorly organised movement can put undue strain on the joints, connective tissues, muscles, and ultimately the entire body because of physical restrictions, mental or emotional attitudes, or the demands of the musical instrument. Conventional medicine does not yet provide long-term remedies or preventative measures for the tension, pain, and injuries, possibly caused by prolonged repetitive practice, typical in musicians. This article summarises the hazards and difficulties that pianists must confront to become aware of, comprehend, and discover solutions to these difficulties. Reducing and preventing tension, pain or injury is possible through education on effective movement, training quality attention, detecting unnecessary strain and releasing it. The article demonstrates the effectiveness of somatic practices, which – through process-oriented and experiential exploration – allow for greater body awareness, ease and range of movement, and improved body balance, strength, flexibility and coordination. By understanding how to move safely, musicians and music teachers can transfer this knowledge and experience into playing and teaching, which may prevent, lessen or eliminate many problems.
