Pri učencih s spektroavtistično motnjo in povprečnih posameznikih so majhni koraki ključni v usvajanju učne snovi. Ura teče počasi in visoko strukturirano, razumevanje novih informacij poteka sproti.

Abstract

School Discussion of Sonnet “Apel in čevljar/Apelles and the Shoemaker” (France Prešeren) with a Pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder

In the case of children with autism spectrum disorder and average individuals, small steps are key when assimilating new learning content. The lesson proceeds slowly and in a highly structured way; new information is comprehended simultaneously. Silence holds an important place in main taining concentration and in internalising the learning content. The rule of Less is More should be applied, because pupils have to be protected against stress and the accumulation of often redundant information that is not crucial for attaining the learning objective. Learning should be a pleasant experience for pupils. Modern teaching methods often employ modern technology. The latter should be controlled by the pupil, thus making him/her feel useful and fulfilled, while the teacher should act as a mere guide. This paper simultaneously cautions and comforts teachers that the set goal can be reached slowly and by taking very small steps. Things that sometimes seems unimaginable to us, professionals in our respective fields, may turn out to be highly successful and very effective.
