Samomorilno vedenje otrok in mladostnikov – prepoznava in možnosti intervencij v šolskem okolju

Povzetek

Samomor je eden glavnih vzrokov za smrt v mladostništvu, zato je ključno ustrezno preventivno delo na tem področju. Šolski sistem omogoča enega najbolj optimalnih okolij, v katerem lahko dosežemo najbolj ranljive skupine otrok in mladostnikov. V preteklih letih je bilo pri nas izvedenih kar nekaj projektov, ki so neposredno naslavljali preprečevanje samomorilnega vedenja na šolah, in sicer so bili to projekti Spregovorimo o samomoru med mladostniki, SEYLE – Reševanje in opolnomočenje mladih življenj v Evropi in projekt A (se) štekaš?!? – integrirani pristop krepitve duševnega zdravja in primarne preventive samomorilnega vedenja za mladostnike. Predvsem projekt SEYLE je z mednarodno odmevnostjo in dodelanim raziskovalnim načrtom dokazal, katere intervencije so v šolskem okolju zares učinkovite. Sicer pa vse iniciative kažejo na pozitivno sprejetost in uporabno vrednost takšnih programov.

Abstract

Suicidal Behaviour in Children and Adolescents – Identification and Intervention Options in School Setting

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in adolescence, which is why appropriate preventive measures in that field are key. The school system provides one of the most optimal environments in which we can reach the most vulnerable groups of children and adolescents. In recent years quite a few projects have been implemented in Slovenia, which directly addressed the prevention of suicidal behaviour in schools, namely the projects Spregovorimo o samomoru med mladostniki [Let’s Talk about Suicide among Adolescents], SEYLE – Saving and Empowering Young Lives in Europe, and the project A (se) štekaš?!? [Do You Understand (Yourself)?!?] – an integrated approach to strengthening mental health and primary prevention of suicidal behaviour for adolescents. The SEYLE project in particular, with its international impact and a perfected research plan, has proved which interventions are truly effective in aschool setting. Nevertheless, all of the initiatives indicate the positive acceptance and practical value of such programmes.
