Osnovno delo šolskih knjižnic ni učenje branja samega, temveč omogočanje branja in motivacije. Poleg ur knjižničnega informacijskega znanja in neposrednega dela z uporabniki lahko knjižnica prispeva k razvoju otrokove bralne kulture in oblikovanju pozitivnega odnosa do knjige tudi z izvajanjem interesne dejavnosti, kot je npr. ura pravljic. Na naši šoli imamo za učence 1. razreda organizirano interesno dejavnost, ki smo jo poimenovali s pravljico po svetu. Gre za preplet pravljičnih uric in ustvarjalnih dejavnosti, s katerimi želimo pri učencih razvijati zlasti notranjo motivacijo za branje. Branje oziroma pripovedovanje otrokom je namreč ena najbolj učinkovitih metod ustvarjanja dobrih bralcev. Ker je interesna dejavnost oblika dela, kjer ni tako strogo določenih učnih ciljev, imamo več svobode, da lahko učence aktivno vključimo v celoten delovni proces. Pri tem upoštevamo njihove ideje in zanimanja. Tako se krepi njihova samozavest, hkrati pa se na neprisiljen način razvija njihova notranja motivacija za branje.

Travelling to the World of Imagination and Creativity with Fairy Tales

Th e basic work of school libraries is not to teach reading itself but to enable reading and motivation. The library can contribute to the development of children’s reading culture and the formation of a positive attitude towards books by working directly with users, by implementing library and informational science, and extracurricular activities such as a fairy tale hour. In our school, we have organized an extracurricular activity for first-grade students called With a Fairy Tale around the World. Its purpose is to intertwine fairy tale hours and creative activities to help foster students’ inner motivation for reading. Reading and storytelling for children are among the most effective methods of creating good readers. Extracurricular activities have no strictly defined learning goals, so we have more freedom to actively include students in the entire process by also taking into account their ideas and interests. This strengthens their self-confidence and develops their inner motivation for reading in a relaxed way.
