Povzetek
Slovenska šola postaja vse bolj večkulturna. Učitelji so zato postavljeni pred nove vzgojne izzive, vezane predvsem na razvijanje sprejemajoče, na spoštljivem sobivanju temelječe kulture šole. Razvita visoka raven medkulturne občutljivosti učencev je pri tem temeljnega pomena. V prispevku zato predstavljamo Bennetov šeststopenjski model razvoja medkulturne občutljivosti, ki učitelju pomaga razumeti, na kateri stopnji le-te so učenci. Na temelju tega pa lahko učitelj načrtuje različne pristope, da bi učenca pripeljal na vse višjo raven medkulturne občutljivosti.
Abstract
Developing Intercultural Sensitivity among Pupils
Slovenian schools are becoming increasingly multicultural. Teachers are therefore facing new educational challenges related mostly to developing an accepting school culture founded on a respectful coexistence. Developing a high level of intercultural sensitivity among pupils is essential. For this reason, the paper presents Bennett’s Six Stage Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity, which helps the teacher to understand which stage the pupils have reached. Based on that, the teacher can then plan different approaches in order to lead the pupil to an ever-higher stage of intercultural sensitivity.
