Drobni tiski so pomemben del gradiva vsake knjižnice, predvsem kot fond nacionalne kulturne dediščine. Knjižno gradivo, ki ga imenujemo drobni tisk, je najštevilčnejše in vsebinsko raznovrstno gradivo. Lahko ga označimo kot fragmentarne dokumente vsakdanjega življenja. Pomembna je njegova promocija, saj le tako lahko pridobimo del gradiva, ki drugače ne bi našel svojega prostora v knjižnicah. Bibliografska obdelava drobnega tiska zahteva drugačen pristop. Pojavljalo se je vprašanje, ali je drobni tisk sploh vredno zbirati in hraniti, saj je veljal za manj pomembno gradivo s kratkotrajno aktualno vrednostjo. Izkazalo se je, da informacijska in kulturna vrednost drobnega tiska narašča s časovnim odmikom. Ker vsebuje informacije o vsakdanjem življenju, je lahko koristen vir informacij za raziskovanje duha časa.
Abstract
Diversity of Small Prints: Experience at the National and University Library
Small prints are an important part of the material of any library, especially as a fund of national cultural heritage. The literary material we call small print is the most numerous and diverse in content. It can be labelled as the fragmentary documents of everyday life. Its promotion is important, because that is the only way we can acquire a segment of material which would otherwise not be included in libraries. The bibliographic processing of small print requires a different approach. The question arose whether small print was even worth collecting and keeping, for it was considered less important material of short-lived actual value. As it turns out, the informational and cultural value of small print increases with time. Because it contains information about everyday life, it may be a useful source of information for researching the spirit of the time.
