Izvleček

V prispevku obravnavamo lastnosti prsti na poplavnem območju Dravinjske doline, ki zajema občine Slovenske Konjice, Slovenska Bistrica, Poljčane, Makole in Majšperk. Reka Dravinja poplavlja ne samo zaradi svojih visokih pretokov, temveč tudi zaradi visoke podtalne vode. To povzroči zastajanje vode na površini, še posebej na nižjih legah, tudi daleč stran od struge Dravinje. Namen raziskave je bil analizirati poplavne prsti in oceniti, kako dolgotrajno zastajanje vode vpliva na njihove lastnosti. Vzorce prsti smo odvzeli na enajstih lokacijah s pomočjo pedološkega svedra. Merili in analizirali smo deset ključnih fizikalnih in kemijskih lastnosti prsti v odvisnosti od njihove poplavljenosti. Rezultati prispevajo k širšemu razumevanju značilnosti poplavnih prsti in njihovega odziva na poplave. Ugotovitve lahko pomagajo izboljšati prihodnje strategije upravljanja s prstmi na poplavnih območjih in spodbujajo k zagotavljanju bistvenih storitev ekosistema tal.

Abstract

Flood-Inflicted Changes in Soil Properties and Use

This study investigates soil properties in the flood-prone area of the Dravinja Valley, Slovenia, which covers Slovenske Konjice, Slovenska Bistrica, Poljčane, Makole, and Majšperk. The Dravinja River floods due to its high flows and elevated groundwater levels, which leads to stagnant surface water, particularly in lower elevations, even well away from the immediate riverbed. The study aimed to characterise these floodplain soils and assess how their properties are affected by prolonged waterlogging. Soil samples were collected from 11 sites using a soil auger. Ten main physical and chemical properties were measured and analysed for their correlation with flooding events. The results contribute to a broader understanding of floodplain soil characteristics and their response to flooding. The findings can inform future soil management strategies in floodprone areas and promote the provision of essential soil ecosystem services.
