Šolske športne dejavnosti (predmet šport, neobvezni izbirni predmeti, zdrav življenjski slog, interesne dejavnosti, šole v naravi …) razvijajo gibalne sposobnosti in podajajo raznolika gibalna znanja.

Abstract

The Importance of Movement in Early Education

Movement is the child’s natural need which represents an important part of their everyday life. A physically active child feels good, is more balanced, sleeps better and is content. Movement is an activity that effectively neutralises the negative consequences of a sedentary lifestyle and prevents or helps manage weight gain, which is becoming a major problem in today’s developed world. School sport activities (the subject Sports, non-compulsory optional subjects, healthy lifestyle, extracurricular activities, outdoor school trips, etc.) contribute to the development of movement and assimilation of diverse movement skills necessary for the child, later also as an adult, to effectively and safely engage in various sports activities that will become a part of their everyday life. The effectiveness of the implemented movement activities largely depends on appropriate planning, regular implementation and professional management in accordance with the basic principles of healthy and safe sports activities, the child’s developmental stage and their interests. During the physical activity, the child should learn about different forms of movement, receive adequate feedback about their success and, most importantly, enjoy the movement. Only a healthy and physically active child is a happy child.
