Platonska origami telesa


Izvleček

V članku predstavljamo dejavnost, ki povezuje japonsko kulturno tradicijo prepogibanja papirja s prostorsko geometrijo, in sicer z namenom odkrivanja značilnosti pravilnih poliedrov, ustvarjalnega oblikovanja ter reševanja problemov in razvijanja prostorskih predstav ter sklepanja. S spoznavanjem tradicionalne in modularne tehnike origamija ter z izdelavo modularnih origami figur ob podpori digitalnih orodij in aplikacij učencem omogočamo priložnost za ustvarjanje in reševanje matematičnih izzivov, povezanih s pravilnimi poliedri. Medpredmetni in inovativni pristop prispevata k visoki motivaciji učencev, njihovi vztrajnosti in zavzetosti ter k sodelovalnemu vzdušju pri oblikovanju in predstavitvi osrednje ideje platonskih origami teles. Zlasti samostojno ustvarjanje origami figur učencem omogoča globlje razumevanje abstraktnih matematičnih konceptov in njihovih medsebojnih povezav. Opisana dejavnost je bila izvedena kot delavnica za potencialno nadarjene učence 8. razreda v Centru odličnosti za matematiko v Splitu.

Abstract

Platonic Origami Solids

This article presents an activity that combines the Japanese cultural tradition of origami with spatial geometry. The primary goal is to explore the properties of regular polyhedra while fostering creative design, problemsolving skills, spatial visualisation, and logical reasoning. By learning both traditional and modular origami techniques and constructing modular origami models with the support of digital tools and applications, students can create and solve mathematical challenges related to regular polyhedra. The interdisciplinary and innovative approach boosts students’ motivation, perseverance, and engagement in a collaborative atmosphere during the design and presentation of the core concept, namely, Platonic origami solids. In particular, the independent construction of origami models enables students to develop a deeper understanding of abstract mathematical concepts and their interrelationships. The activity was implemented as a workshop for potentially gifted 8th-grade students at the Centre od Excellence in Mathematics in Split.
