Abstract
From Learning Notes to Playing the Xylophone
In the first educational triennium, pupils are very fond of the subject of Music. During Music lessons, they relax, feel good, sing songs, listen to compositions, accompany songs with their own musical instruments or with Orff instruments, and recognise instruments by listening or looking at them; they especially enjoy moving while listening to a song or freezing when the music stops. It is every teacher’s goal to continue to foster this love of musical activity in upper grades. This year’s fourth grade pupils (school year 2018/19) gradually learned the notes, mastered their duration, and later tested their skills by accompanying the folk song from the Prekmurje region entitled Marko skače [Marko Is Jumping] on a xylophone.
