Spodbujanje otrok k branju je pomembna in odgovorna naloga odraslih. Sprašujemo se, kako spodbujati motiviranost za branje v današnji družbi. Me učiteljice pa še, kako v šoli spodbujati k branju različnih vrst besedil in hkrati razumeti prebrano. V zadnjem času opažamo drugačne bralne navade učencev in zato je toliko pomembnejše načrtno uvajanje dejavnosti, ki razvijajo bralno pismenost, predvsem na razredni stopnji. Vloga učitelja je opismeniti učence in v njih spodbuditi željo po ponovitvi bralne izkušnje, kar lahko realiziramo pri vseh predmetih. Pri sodelovanju v projektu OBJEM smo iskali didaktične pristope, ki spodbujajo motiviranost za branje in posledično vplivajo na razumevanje prebranega. Dodatna spodbuda k motiviranosti za branje je sodelovanje pri Nacionalnem mesecu skupnega branja (NMSB). Tako lahko pri učencih spodbudimo prepričanje, da je branje lahko tudi sproščujoča in prijetna dejavnost. Prek različnih aktivnosti učenci dobijo občutek pripadnosti, da pozitivnega učinka vsakodnevnega 10-minutnega branja niti ne omenjam.

OBJEM: National Month of Reading Together and Reading Promotion in Grade 4
Adults play a crucial role and bear the responsibility of encouraging children to read. Adults wonder how to foster reading motivation in today’s world. Teachers also wonder how to encourage children to read different types of texts at school and, at the same time, to understand what they read. We have recently noted a shift in pupils’ reading habits, which makes it all the more important to introduce activities that foster reading literacy in a systematic manner, especially at the primary level. The teacher’s responsibility is to provide pupils with literacy skills and the motivation to repeat the reading experience in all subjects. Throughout the OBJEM project, we investigated didactic approaches that increase motivation to read and, as a result, enhance reading comprehension. Participation in the National Month of Reading Together provides an additional stimulus to encourage reading. In this way, we can persuade pupils that reading can be relaxing and enjoyable, too. Through various activities, pupils gain a sense of belonging, not to mention the benefits of reading for 10 minutes daily.
