Povzetek

Mednarodni program na Gimnaziji Bežigrad, ki s svojimi dolgoletnimi izkušnjami odseva odlične rezultate, predstavlja izziv ne samo za slovenske učitelje, ki v programu predmete poučujejo v angleščini, ampak tudi za vse deležnike učnega procesa. Dijaki, ki se na novo socializirajo v slovenskem kulturnem, jezikovnem in šolskem okolju, potrebujejo pomoč učiteljev, sošolcev in svetovalne službe, saj je začetek za marsikaterega priseljenca naporen. Občutki drugačnosti jih spremljajo vsakodnevno in vloga šole je, da jih vodi v učnem procesu in jim pokaže možnosti za vključenost v novo okolje. Moja udeležba v programu me je prepričala, da je Slovenija na pravi poti pri vključevanju tujcev v naš šolski sistem.

Abstract

Interculturalism and Integration of High-school Students First-hand

The international program implemented at the Bežigrad Grammar School which reflects excellent results based on its longstanding experiences is challenging not only for Slovenian teachers teaching the material in English but also for all other participants in the learning process. The students who are socialized anew in the Slovenian cultural, language and school environment require help from teachers, classmates and advisors as many immigrants find the new beginning quite difficult. The feeling of being different is their everyday occurrence and it is the school’s role to guide them through the learning process by showing them the possibilities of integrating into the new environment. My participation in the program convinced me that Slovenia is on the right path relative to the integration of immigrants into the Slovenian school system.
