Družbena omrežja so postala sestavni del življenja mladih, saj jih uporabljajo vsakodnevno za komunikacijo, pridobivanje informacij, obvestil in pregledovanje novic. Uporaba družbenih omrežij vpliva na kognitivni razvoj tudi na nezavedni ravni. Pri dnevih dejavnosti smo se z dijaki poglobili v uporabo družbenih omrežij in iskali razlike ter podobnosti pri uporabi aplikacij. Knjižničarka je zagotovila dostop za ogled dokumentarnega filma o družbenih omrežjih, na podlagi katerega smo nato nadaljevali z delavnicami. Ne moremo vseh družabnih omrežij označiti za slaba, bolj pomembno je, da prepoznamo lastne vzorce vedenja, koristi in negativne vplive. Tako se naučimo varno krmariti v poplavi ponudbe aplikacij ter prihajajočih obvestil in sporočil, ki kličejo po naši pozornosti. Ugotovili smo, da smo si dostikrat veliko bolj podobni, kot morda mislimo, in v občutenjih nismo sami. Prav tako smo ugotovili, da je treba najti zdravo mero uporabe socialnih medijev in omejiti čas uporabe, preverjati informacije prek različnih virov ter zagotoviti, da imamo v življenju večji del pravih stikov z ljudmi in ne prek zaslonov.
Abstract
How We Studied Social Media
Social media have become an integral part of young people’s lives – they are using them in their everyday communication, when searching for information, receiving notifications and following news. The use of social media affects cognitive development also on an unconscious level. In Activity Days, we looked closer at the use of social media, searching for the differences and similarities in using the applications. The librarian gave us access to watch a documentary about social media, based on which we then continued with the workshops. Not all social media can be seen as bad; it is more important to recognize our own patterns of behaviour, benefits and negative impacts. In this way, we learn to navigate safely through the plethora of applications, messages and notifications calling for our attention. We found that we are often much more similar than we may think and that we are not alone in the way we feel. We also discovered that a healthy dose of social media needs to be found by limiting their use, checking the accuracy of information through different sources and ensuring that the majority of our interactions with people is in real life, not via screens.
