Povzetek
V letu 2019 so številni mediji poročali o dogajanju v Latinski Ameriki, saj se je na tem območju zgodilo več odmevnih dogodkov in odvijalo veliko število različnih naravnih in družbenih procesov, ki so vplivali na spremembe v okolju, mir v regiji, na migracijske tokove in ki bodo imeli posledice na razvoj posameznih držav ter globalne posledice tudi v prihodnjih letih. V članku predstavljamo izbrane nedavne naravno- in družbenogeografske dogodke in posledice z območja Latinske Amerike ter vzroke zanje. Med njimi so požari na območju amazonskega deževnega gozda, politična kriza in migracije iz Venezuele ter pritisk na druge države v regiji, politična kriza v Boliviji, demonstracije v Čilu in menjava oblasti v Argentini.
Abstract
Selected Case Studies of Present-Day Processes and Events in Latin America
Different media reported about the 2019 development in Latin America, where many significant events as well as a number of different physical and human processes took place which resulted in environmental changes, peace in the region and migration currents, and will have consequences for the countries’ and global development in the coming years. The article presents some of the recent physical and human geographical events in Latin America, reasons for them and their consequences. They include the Amazon rainforest fires, political crisis and migrations from Venezuela and consequent pressure on other countries in the region, political crisis in Bolivia, demonstrations in Chile and political change in Argentina.
