Geološka zgradba Solčavskega in paleogeografski razvoj omogočata razumevanje geomorfnih osnov Solčavskega, različni geomorfni sistemi poglabljajo te vsebine, ledeniške oblike pričajo o nekdanji dinamiki eksogenih procesov, medtem ko poplave in plazovi o recentnih.
Abstract
Geomorphology of the Solčava Region: Scientific Foundations and Fieldwork Didactics
The paper provides a comprehensive review of the geological and geomorphological features of the Solčava region, situated at the junction of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the Karavanke Mountains in Slovenia. Based on a review of current scientific research, landscape genesis processes are analysed, including their relationship to the impacts of climate change and the natural hazards. Special attention is given to the interpretation of geomorphological features at selected observation sites from the perspective of field-based didactics, as well as to the integration of the content into the educational vertical of geography and geology across primary, secondary, and university levels. The geological structure of the Solčava area and its palaeogeographic development provide a basis for understanding its geomorphic framework; various geomorphic systems further elaborate these themes, and glacial landforms testify to the former dynamics of exogenic processes, while floods and landslides reflect their recent activity.
