Uporabljeni sta bili metoda analize teoretičnih virov in empirična metoda v obliki poskusa v virtualnem okolju. V zaključku prispevek podaja glavne ugotovitve in usmeritve za uporabo Facebooka v šolski knjižnici v prihodnosti.
Abstract
Facebook: Information Platform for the School Library
The paper describes the modus operandi of education in 2020 when distance education was imposed twice and school libraries had to adapt to the changed mode of communicating and operating. Distance education no longer includes the spatial and temporal dynamics of the school library in the school setting; instead, it moves to a person’s living and virtual environment. Th e basic purpose of the paper is to demonstrate that the social networking site Facebook can act as an information platform for the school library, enabling it to inform friends and followers about novelties in the school library during distance education. The paper suggests how to take advantage of Facebook to keep users of the school library, who are at least 13 years old, and their parents informed, and how to maintain their connection to the school library in a virtual environment. The aim of the paper is to show how in the virtual environment Facebook can retain the possibility of holding exhibitions, presenting books, and other activities that are typical of the school library in the school setting. The paper employed the method of analysing theoretical sources and the empirical method in the form of an experiment in a virtual environment. In conclusion, the paper gives the main findings and guidelines for using Facebook in the school library in the future.
