Dvigovanje uteži s segrevanjem idealnega plina

Obravnava lastnosti plinov in poskusi z njimi so prisotni po celotni izobraževalni vertikali, vendar izkušnje kažejo, da se tudi med študenti fizike še pojavljajo težave pri razumevanju procesov z idealnim plinom. Dijaki in študenti, ki niso imeli priložnosti, da bi si ustvarili dobro miselno sliko o spremembi plina pri konstantnem tlaku, le-to težje prepoznajo že v vzorčnem poskusu. Zamisel o spremembi plina pri konstantni prostornini je lažje predstavljiva, vendar lahko v novi situaciji, ki zahteva povezanost znanja z drugih področij, postane težji kognitivni izziv. V članku predstavljamo nalogo, ki združuje znano realizacijo spremembe pri konstantnem tlaku in spremembo pri konstantni prostornini v netipični izvedbi. Dijake spodbuja h gradnji koherentnega znanja, učitelju pa daje informacije o doseganju različnih ravni razumevanja obravnavane snovi.

Abstract

Weight Lifting by Heating Ideal Gas

The properties of gases and the related experiments are a standard topic at all levels of education. However, experience suggests that even physics major students show deficit in understanding them. Students who have not created a good mental image of the heating of a gas at constant pressure also find it difficult to visualise the process during a model experiment. It is easier for students to visualise the constant volume process. Nevertheless, if a new context for a correct visualisation is provided, a coherent understanding is needed, and the problem requires a higher cognitive load. We present a problem which combines a well-known isobaric experiment and an isochoric process in an atypical set-up. The task stimulates the students to build more coherent knowledge and provides the teacher with the information on the achieved level of understanding.
