Povzetek
Dobro duševno zdravje je pomembno tudi za obdobje otroštva in mladostništva. V članku smo analizirali podatke o duševnem zdravju slovenskih petnajstletnikov (N = 1615, od tega 53,9 % deklet) iz mednarodne raziskave Z zdravjem povezano vedenje v šolskem obdobju leta 2014. Večina slovenskih petnajstletnikov svoje zdravje in počutje ocenjuje kot zelo dobro in je zadovoljnih s svojim življenjem. Več kot polovica jih doživlja stres zaradi šole, nekaj več kot tretjina ima vsaj dva psihosomatska simptoma več kot enkrat tedensko in približno 6 odstotkov jih je že bilo trpinčenih ali pa je trpinčilo druge. Približno polovica vsakodnevno klepeta s prijatelji prek Facebooka oz. klepetalnika za Windows ali Blackberry ipd., ki omogočajo klepet in izmenjavo datotek v realnem času, ter gleda televizijo dve uri ali več na dan, nekaj več kot četrtina pa jih uporablja druga socialna omrežja in igra računalniške igrice dve uri ali več na dan. Ugotovitve so dobra podlaga za pripravo različnih ukrepov in programov za mladostnike.
Abstract
Mental health of Slovenian 15-year-olds – international study results
Good mental health is important throughout childhood and youth period. The article analyses data on the mental health of Slovene 15-year-olds (N = 1615, out of which 53.9% were girls) from the international study “Health-related behavior during the 2014 school period.” The majority of Slovene 15-year-olds assesses their state of health and well-being as very good and is happy with their lives. More than a half experience school-related stress, a little more than a third have at least two psychosomatic symptoms occurring more than once a week, and approximately 6 percent had been bullied or had bullied others. About a quarter of youth shows high probability of mental health problems. Approximately one half chats with their friends daily on instant messaging and watches TV for at least two hours a day, while somewhat more than a quarter uses other social networks and plays games for minimally two hours a day. The findings are a good foundation for the preparation of various measures and youth programs.
