Izvleček
V prispevku so predstavljena prizadevanja za ohranjanje slovenstva in ljubezni do domovine in države med Slovenci v Argentini. Osrednje sporočilo besedila je, da slovenska skupnost v Argentini že več kot osem desetletij zelo uspešno ohranja slovenski jezik in slovensko kulturno izročilo, kar je predstavljeno tudi na vsakoletni mednarodni konferenci Vzgoja za ljubezen do domovine in države. Vse to rojakom v Argentini uspeva s številnimi kulturnimi dejavnostmi, ki temeljijo na medgeneracijskem povezovanju. Pri vzgoji mladih za spoštovanje lastne identitete ter slovenskega jezika, zgodovine, geografije, kulture in domovine imajo poleg staršev, starih staršev in članov slovenske skupnosti pomembno vlogo tudi učitelji sobotnih šol slovenskega jezika in drugih predmetov v slovenskem jeziku.
Abstract
Preserving Slovenian Identity and Love of the Homeland and the Country: A Glimpse into the Testimony of Slovenians in Argentina
This article presents efforts to preserve Slovenian identity and love for the homeland and country among Slovenians in Argentina. The central message of the text is that the Slovenian community in Argentina has successfully maintained the Slovenian language and cultural heritage for over eight decades, as is also demonstrated at the annual international conference titled Education for Love of Homeland and Country. Our compatriots in Argentina achieve this through numerous cultural activities based on intergenerational connections. In educating young people to respect their own identity and the Slovenian language, history, geography, culture, and homeland, teachers at Saturday schools teaching Slovenian and other subjects in Slovenian play an important role alongside parents, grandparents, and members of the Slovenian community.
