Prispevek analizira položaj okoljskega izobraževanja v spremenjenem javnopolitičnem kontekstu po letu 2022. Geopolitične krize so znižale prioriteto okoljskih tem, kar prinaša tveganja za manjšanje politične podpore. Argumentira, da strateški pomen okoljskega izobraževanja dejansko narašča. Poudarjen je pomen razvoja kompetenc za trajnostni razvoj v skladu z okvirom GreenComp. Predstavljene so usmeritve za sistemsko zasidranost VITR, stabilnejše financiranje in poudarek na odpornosti. zaključek poudarja nujnost prilagoditve novim razmeram brez opustitve ciljev trajnostnosti.

Abstract

Environmental and Climate Education in Era of Shifting Public Policy Priorities

This paper analyses the position of environmental education in a changing public policy landscape after 2022. Geopolitical crises have lowered the priority of environmental issues, which poses risks of reduced political support. The paper argues that strategic importance of environmental education is in fact increasing. It emphasises the need to develop competencies for sustainable development in line with the GreenComp framework. It offers guidelines for the systemic embedding of VITR (Education for Sustainable Development), securing more stable funding, and focusing on resilience. The conclusion underscores the necessity of adapting to new conditions while remaining committed to sustainability goals.
