Učenci so pri učenju uspešnejši, če so notranje motivirani in če se počutijo varno. Za dejavnosti na prostem velja oboje, učenci so običajno zelo notranje motivirani in počutijo se varno. Oba dejavnika sta lahko zadosten razlog in spodbuda za izvajanje pouka na prostem, pri čemer je poleg učnih ciljev vključeno še razvijanje trajnostnega razmišljanja in delovanja. Predvsem mlajši učenci najprej opazujejo in zaznavajo bližnjo okolico ter razvijajo pozitiven odnos do nje. Na tem nato gradijo znanje, odnose, spretnosti. Narava je najbolj odprt prostor za urjenje vseh čutov, za igro in ustvarjanje ter preko obojega tudi prostor za učenje. Proces ter rezultate učenja učitelj preverja z opazovanjem in vodenjem pogovora z učencem.

Abstract

Outdoor Play and Storytelling

Students perform better at school when they are self-motivated and feel protected. Outdoor activities offer both. In addition to learning objectives and developing sustainable thinking and behaviour, both factors can serve as a rationale and impetus for outdoor learning activities. Younger pupils are more likely to observe and perceive their surroundings and develop a positive attitude towards them. They then expand on this to improve their knowledge, attitudes, and abilities. Nature is the most open area for training all the senses, for play and creativity, and, as a result, for learning. The teacher observes and engages with the students to assess the learning process and its outcomes.
